Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information LINQ Events collects through this website, why we collect it, and what your rights are. It applies to this website only. Last updated 6 August 2026.

Who we are

LINQ Events is a UK-based golf and corporate event management company. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described in this policy. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, contact us at [email protected] .

What we collect

We only collect personal information that you choose to give us, plus limited technical information about how the site is used:

  • Enquiries. When you use the enquiry form or email us, we collect your email address and anything else you include in your message, such as your name, phone number and details of the event you are planning.

  • Website analytics. If you consent to statistics cookies, we collect anonymous information about how the site is used, such as the pages you visit and how long you spend on them.

We do not ask for payment details through this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss an event with you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have contacted us and expect a response.

  • To provide our services if you go on to become a client. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract.

  • To understand how the website is used and improve it. Our lawful basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner.

We will not use your details to send you marketing unless you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. Only strictly necessary cookies are set unless you allow the others. For a full list of the cookies used, what they do and how long they last, see our Cookie Policy , where you can also change or withdraw your consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run this website and our business, and only so far as they need it. These currently include our website hosting and email providers, Google Analytics for website statistics, Hotjar for anonymous usage insights, and Cookiebot for managing cookie consent. Some of these providers process data outside the UK; where that happens, it is covered by the safeguards required under UK data protection law.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for up to two years from our last contact with you, unless you become a client, in which case we keep records for as long as needed to deliver your event and for six years afterwards to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in the tools listed above.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk .

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised date at the top.
